<text>Using right click on a ST, Create ST item, it would be helpful if more of the fields on the resulting edit box were filled in. e.g. I am entering a medication in my note, and I know I will want to use that med/dose/sig again. I click on Create ST item, but it takes a long time to fill in all the keywords. Much quicker if the keywords from the ST I started with are already filled in.</text>

<text> would like to see a Tab created for Medication History. Any time a medication is added to a SOAPMF note which is then signed, the medications in the Medication field would automatically be added to the Medication History Tab. This tab would be a form similar to what most of us use in paper charts with columns for the current date, the medication name, strength, directions, quantity prescribed and refills authorized. Start and stop dates would be nice additions, along with a column for entering comments such as why a medication was discontinued (ie, tx completed, side-effects, cost, etc.) (These could even be selectable from a drop-down list.)

Such a tab would greatly simplify the task of tracking medications over time, and could easily be printed for ease of review if needed, or for faxing to a hospital when a patient gets admitted, etc.

I have worked with other less complex EMRs which have done far better at tracking medication history than SW does. I believe that SW needs to do a much better job in this area!</text>

<text>urrently, under Tools->Options->Workflow, a user can set "Summary to SOAP", meaning that when you open a new docuplate for an encounter, the data in the Summary sections will automatically be populated in the SOAP note sections.

What I would like to see is a "SOAP to Summary option, which would allow users to decide what part(s) of the current SOAPMF note might get automatically transfered to the Summary section when a note is signed off and the chart closed. For example, I would like to have the Diagnosis automatically saved to the Summary Section and I would like the Medication field to automatically transfer to the Medication section of the Summary side. This - in particular - would ensure that my Summary side listing of medications is always accurate the next time I open a chart. Too often, I forget to do Ctl-Shift-F8 before closing a chart, and then the changes I have made to the patient's medications don't get saved. Then the next time I see the patient and use Ctl-F8 to populate the SOAPMF Medication field, it is incorrect. Errors then get carried over for several visits inadvertently.</text>

<text>When choosing "Active Provider", have an option to not select. Then, when opening a note, a pop up would ask for active provider for that note.
Rationale: Staff frequently are working with more than one provider on any given day, or even withing a few minutes. It is easy to forget which provider one has "active" at any given time, and accidentally create a note for the wrong provider.

Alternative: in a very large practice, it might be nice to be able to select a few providers you are working wtih on that day. Then your "pop up" would only list those providers.</text>

<text>(optional) pane in DI that show the document you are working on. Drag and drop into chart deletes document from the source folder.

Rationale: currently to use DI you must prename each document so you know where it goes, or open it in an external reader to see what it is and where it goes.

Two problems with the external reader: you have to manually resize windows for SW and the external reader each day (actually SW is pretty good at remembering its resized windown, but Adobe Reader doesn't). Then, once you import the file into a patient chart, you must close the file in the reader before you can delete it.

Deleting is currently a separate step, which creates risk of deleting the wrong file.

<text>I see faxes coming from other physicians with the words "Electronically Signed by Dr. Smith on 9-15-08 at 9:30am." I would love to see this with SOAPware. We have had an issue where labs or reports are scanned, reviewed by me, and then signed off (by clicking the signoff button); then if we have to print them or fax them at a later time, they are printed out and looks as if I have never seen or reviewed the labs; I can attach a sticky note, but that takes more time (and it cannot be done to PDF's), so I would suggest this as an important medico-legal feature request.</text>
